Earlier in 2019, it came down to a flip of a coin as to whether Always With A Smile would visit South Africa to cage-dive with Great White Sharks or Iceland to sample some of its many natural beauty spots.
In the end, Joel established connections in South Africa… but just 7 months later, quite by chance, he was flown to Iceland to film a commercial, and whilst there he found the time to visit the Blue Lagoon, arguably Iceland’s ‘must do’ attraction.
Named as one of the 25 Wonders of the World, according to National Geographic, this geothermal paradise is among the country’s many simmering pools. It is fed by seawater 1,981 metres beneath the surface, where it reaches a searing 240°C. Capturing silica and other minerals on its way to the surface, it emerges from the ground at a warming 38°C, just right for pampering visitors… and raising a smile!
