The objective of the Wrekin Barrel Race is to carry a full 9 gallon beer barrel from the bottom of The Wrekin to the top in the quickest possible time - that's a vertical distance of 240m (800 feet) and a path distance of 1.8km. This event really is one of the toughest tests of strength and endurance around.
