Joel Hicks

The Birdman is a flight competition for human powered flying machines held each summer in the picturesque seaside resort of Worthing on England's South Coast. In 2008 I entered the "Kingfisher" class where the winner is not judged by how far they fly but on the most entertaining fancy dress or comic entrant. Points are given for entertainment value, both for costume and props, the pre-launch routine to music, and crowd reaction. In 2009 I was filmed as part of the Channel 5 programme "Bighton Beach Patrol".
