The Birdman is a flight competition for human powered flying machines held each summer in the picturesque seaside resort of Worthing on England's South Coast. In 2011 I once again entered the "Kingfisher" class where the winner is not judged by how far they fly but on the most entertaining fancy dress and comic entrant. Points are given for entertainment value, both for costume and props, the pre-launch routine to music, and crowd reaction. This year I went 'Off As The Hoff' in the Knightrider car, complete with flashing strobe light! Unfortunatley, the winds were so strong the the roof was ripped from the car before launch and the craft even ended up flying backwards!
