Started in 2004, the UK Mobile Phone Throwing Championships are organised by the adventure club 8th Day UK in London. The aim of the event is simply to have a bit of fun chucking old phones as far as possible! There is also a good cause behind the championships however, as competitors are asked to bring their old phones along on the day to give to a phone recycling charity.
