The Birdman is a flight competition for human powered flying machines held each summer in the picturesque seaside resort of Bognor Regis. In 2007 I entered the "Kingfisher" class for the first time, where the winner is not judged by how far they fly but on the how entertaining the entrant is. Points are given in relation to a Birdman's costume and props, the pre-launch routine to music, and crowd reaction. For my first outing in the Birdman, I flew as Mr T in the A-Team van, and was fortunate enough to win the event!
