Joel Hicks

The Birdman is a flight competition for human powered flying machines. Having been an annual fixture in Bognor for 29 years, the Birdman returned in 2010 after a two year absence. Having won the competition in 2007, I once again entered the "Kingfisher" class where entertainment value (both for costume and props), the pre-launch routine to music, and crowd reaction determine the victor. I elected this year to ride off the pier on a bike, leaving my co-pilot E.T. responsible for all aspects of flight!
